GOLF
- Thal Acres is an
18-hole course south of Westfield on CO.M.
- White Lake Country
Club is a 9 hole course between Montello and
Princeton.
PARKS
John Muir County Park is a 125-acres
park with a 30 acre Fountain Lake. This park has
boat access, picnic grounds, restrooms, and
hiking trails.
- Most villages in
Marquette County have at least one park with
baseball diamonds, picnic areas, playgrounds,
restrooms, and shelters.
SNOWMOBILING
- There are 250 miles
of state funded, club maintained trails in the
county.
CROSS
COUNTRY SKIING
- 15 miles of scenic
marked and groomed trails at Red Pine Cross
Country Ski Trails
HISTORIC
SITES
- The Marquette County
Courthouse (National Register of Historic Places)
and the Maison Granit both on Highway 23, just
west of downtown Montello boast some of the
county's history.
- The Cochrane-Nelson
House in Westfield houses the Marquette County
Historical Museum.

- Miniature
Horse Ranch has over 100 miniature
horses. They are so popular the governor
her declared Westfield the
"Miniature Horse Capitol of
Wisconsin." Tours available at 1
p.m. daily, Memorial Day - Labor Day.

- Prairie
Nursery, five miles east of Westfield, is
a major supplier of Prairie plants and
seeds worldwide. Free tours June -

- Bison Ridge
Ranch. Public viewing, including a
hayride tour, are available twice daily
Thursday - Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00
p.m., May 15 - October15. (608) 589-5500.
- Miniature
Donkeys can also be seen at Jomago Ranch

- Westfield
Fish Hatchery is home to over 1 million
salmon! The hatchery is open M-F 8 a.m. -
5 p.m. (608) 296-2343.

Things to Do
Adams County
GOLF
- Mound View Golf &
Supper Club boasts 9 holes of open to the public
golf as well as driving range and fine dining.
- Lake Arrowhead is the
area's only 18 hole course. It is rated by
"Golf Digest" as among the top 100
public golf courses in the nation. An 18-hole
expansion will be complete in 1998.
- Coldwater Canyon Golf
Course is a 9-hole course just east of Wisconsin.
Dells on Highway 23.
PARKS
Roche-a-Cri State Park (425 acres)
offers 42 wooded campsites with fire rings,
restrooms, water, firewood, and picnic area. It
has 4 miles of marked hiking trails which serve
as Cross Country trail in the winter.
- Castle Rock County
Park is a 141-acre park on the shores of
Wisconsin's 4th largest inland lake. It offers
200 campsites, showers, restrooms, electric
wells, swimming area, picnic area, boat launch,
shelter, concessions, and playground.
- Pentenwell Country
Park is located on Wisconsin's sencond
largestbody of water. It features hiking and
cross country trails on its 431 acres.
- There are several
town and village parks with baseball diamonds,
restrooms, picnic areas, and playgrounds.
SNOWMOBILING
- Adams County has 204
miles of state tended, club maintained snowmobile
trails.
SKIING

- Downhill skiing is
available at Skyline Ski Area, just north of
Friendship. Cross country ski trails are also
available here.
HISTORIC
SITES
- The Pinery Road was
the main overland route in the 1830's. Pioneers
built their homes, trading posts, inns, and
tavern along this road. This is still a major
attraction today.
- The McGowan House is
the site of the Adams County Historical Society
and is open to the public May - October.
OTHER
ATTRACTIONS
- Shermalot Show Team
is a 50-member water-ski club that performs every
Saturday evening from Memorial Day to Labor Day
at 6:30 p.m. At the west end of Lake Arrowhead.
- Winnebago Indian
Museum 4 miles west of Wisconsin Dells houses a
large, private collection of Native American
Artifacts.
- Adams Flea Market is
open every Saturday and Sunday May 3 - October
26. This can be found on Main Street next to the
